and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendour.
These are the verses we will be hearing from in this morning's preach at the 10.30 communion service. Have a read. Ask God to show you something of himself through these words. It is a bit weird that they begin with the phrase about vengeance but this will be explained in the service.
I've not really got much more to add to this email other than one important thing:
Thank you.
Thank you for being such a wonderful church. It is a privilege to serve you and I am greatly blessed to have an amazing team of people to work alongside. Being amongst you all is a joy as well as working together to see our community transformed by the grace of God.
Love and Blessings,
Dave
