Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters;
and you who have no money, come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labour on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of fare.
I’ve been pondering on Dave’s excellent message from yesterday and how we need to have presence, participation and patience in order to enjoy the delights of the banquet Jesus offers, which is himself. It got me thinking about the disciples experience of walking with Jesus, so in today’s message we look at how they needed those three elements in order to share life with Jesus. This week’s prayer focus from the Eastern Baptist Association can be found here and is on Haddenham Baptist Church in Buckinghamshire. Thanks again to all of you who regularly engage in prayer for these churches. While we’re on the subject of prayer, don’t forget to set some time aside each day to pray through our prayer topics. This week, they are laid out as questions, which gives us great opportunity to spend time listening to God as well as speaking to him.
In the yellow box further down this email are the details about our plans for opening the church over the Easter weekend, which is such a precious time for us all to focus in on Jesus. Have a look and see if you might be able to make it on one of the days – it will be lovely to see you there.
He died that we might be forgiven
He died to make us good
That we might go at last to heaven
Saved by his precious blood
