Good Morning Church (said in the style of Ian Gardner),
Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them round your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart. Proverbs 3:3
Welcome to Sunday’s Live Service email. Today we are going to be talking about [the] ‘heart’. There is a HUGE amount in the Bible about it and hopefully we are going to begin to unpack it a little in today’s service. This is the second part of our ‘SHAPE’ series. To connect with the Live Stream, please CLICK HERE(chat often starts around 10.15)
As part of understanding our God-given ‘shape’ we have another self-assessment to fill in – this is called the ‘heart assessment’ which Nigel will explain during the service. Again, it is for your benefit and understanding rather than for Nigel and I. Please Click here for the Excel version of the Heart assessment or a pdf copy to view / print can be found here.
In the box below, the prayer team have put together another week of topics to help us focus and pray together for specific things. Maybe you could pick up the phone or use an online video messaging service to pray with others about these things.
As mentioned earlier, there is a lot in the Bible about the heart. Here’s a reminder from Proverbs in how we can help each others’ hearts:
Anxiety weighs down the heart,
but a kind word cheers it up. Proverbs 12:25
Much love and Blessings,
PRAYER TOPICS (a pdf copy can be found here)
This week’s prayer topics are loosely based on 1 Timothy ch 6 v 6-8:
A devout life does bring wealth but it is the rich simplicity of being yourself before God. Since we entered the world penniless and leave it penniless, if we have bread on the table and shoes on our feet, that is enough. (The Message)
What is enough?
Start the week by looking at what we have, freedom, love of family, be it blood family or Christian brothers and sisters, are we content with what we have? Let us examine ourselves and thank God for his provisions.
Pray for those who have nothing; starvation, repression, and those in prison because of their faith.
Pray for the Governments whose leaders only want power and glory because of greed which brings suffering to millions.
Pray for a Damascus Road experience for people like the leaders of China, North Korea, Pakistan, Iran and many more who suppress Christianity with an iron fist.
Pray for the homeless of this Country. Those who have run away or been thrown out of their homes and are seemingly in a hopeless state. Pray for the charities who help them.
Pray for those in our town and villages who are in a desperate situation, no home, no food, and in debt.
Pray for the Food Banks and those who run them and more so for those who use it, that they may see and feel God’s love . Pray for Elaine and work of the Community Fridge.
Seek God’s face and ask am I doing and giving all that I should in God’s name and for his Glory? “Does my heart break for what breaks Yours”
