Greetings Dearly Beloved,
How are you this fine day (well the morning is sunny, anyway)?
I walk my dog most days at Toftwood Fen. Sometimes I take my camera (if I have time), using it to photograph insects and other bugs. I love to see the beauty in the small things. Something I have noticed is that there are different creatures around at different times of the year. Most of the butterflies have disappeared now but some remain, there’s still a few dragonflies about too, but there are a lot of spiders. Also the physical landscape changes as different plants grow, flower and fruit, or go to seed at differing times. It is a fantastic thing to behold. Over the last week, work has been underway to clear out the stream and, again, the landscape has changed. Our cultural landscape keeps shifting too. Differing COVID rules, higher rates of stress / anxiety and hopelessness but whatever our world looks like we have this hope: Jesus Christ, the unchanging, utterly reliable Saviour and Lord of all. Hebrews 6:19 says, We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Maybe it is possible to see the beauty in the small things within the shifting landscape – I hope so – but even if it is hidden we can still rely on Him Who Is Able.
Today’s message is brought to you by none other than Ian Clarke (Jnr). He tells of 2 stories in the Bible relating to wind and uses them to bring us hope. It is part of a playlist and is followed by a song which he refers to, so to view the message, please CLICK HERE
Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22
