The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him.
During our current series, we are using the ‘I am’ statements in John to focus on Jesus. And in our messages during the week we are also taking opportunity to consider different aspects of Jesus’ character. Previously we’ve shared about his strength, sovereignty, peace and patience. Today, we are looking into mercy. What is mercy? How is God merciful? How is this mercy seen in Jesus? It contains a section inspired by Charles Spurgeon and a story about a merciful king. Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long.
Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.
