How are you all?
Strange isn’t it…lock-down ending (not for some though) and yet not back to ‘normal’. Praise the Lord that he is our unchanging Rock, utterly dependable, totally faithful and our sure and certain hope. With all the uncertainty going on we are in the privileged position to be hope-bringers and light-shiners into our communities, to our friends and neighbours. With that in mind, do you have any stories to share about encounters with people over these last months where you have had the opportunity to bring hope to others? Please do let us know
Gyms are now back open for business so today’s talk is all about exercise…well kind of. To listen to it please CLICK HERE.
I’d like to point out that below the Pastoral News you will find information about New Wine, which starts today. All the information is there, including activities for children. Thanks to Tricia Waller for putting this together for us.
I’m going to end by putting all of Psalm 113 here. Please have a read of how great our God is in this song (or sung poem – same thing, isn’t it?):
1 Praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord, you his servants;
praise the name of the Lord.
2 Let the name of the Lord be praised,
both now and for evermore.
3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the Lord is to be praised.
4 The Lord is exalted over all the nations,
his glory above the heavens.
5 Who is like the Lord our God,
the One who sits enthroned on high,
6 who stoops down to look
on the heavens and the earth?
7 He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
8 he seats them with princes,
with the princes of his people.
9 He settles the childless woman in her home
as a happy mother of children.
Praise the Lord.
NEW WINE online starts today!
From Tricia Waller:
The morning and evening praise and teaching sessions, plus the seminars will all be available through the New Wine website at
https://united.new-wine.org. From the New Wine website people need to click the BreaksOut link to the micro-site where they can access all the sessions, plus details of the full programme.
All the online provision is free of charge.
People can also view the praise and teaching sessions and the seminars via YouTube – either live streamed or they can watch the recordings about 30 minutes after the session ends. The videos will be available to view on You Tube for some weeks afterwards.
There will be 2 kinds of worship and teaching sessions morning and evening – Arena, which is mainstream and Impact, which will be more “urban” and youth orientated.
New Wine have created a children’s website https/www,nwkidz.org which has all sorts of activities and downloadable resources tailored for children for each age group 0-4, 5-7, 8-9, 10-11 and there are printable packs. There is also a children’s Augmented Reality app downloadable from Google or Apple.
For the teens and youth there is Luminosity which will live stream worship, teaching, ministry, seminars and activities.
The Portuguese congregation can join in too! If they watch on You Tube, there is a provision for language translation using the YouTube subtitles facility.
For those of us who like a Quiz – there is a New Wine live stream quiz on You Tube on Sunday evening!
