Today we will be looking at a rather tricky / awkward passage in the Bible. Before I give you any detail, I wonder which Bible story comes to mind that you consider ‘awkward’. There may be more than one, of course (I can think of a few). Nigel and I managed to avoid it earlier when we were making our journey through Acts but today is the day of reckoning – today’s message is about the holiness of God using Ananias and Sapphira as an example, found in Acts 5. It is followed by a song so is part of a playlist. This can all be found by CLICKING HERE
As we go into this week, please do take time to pray for those on the drive in front of the church who are there to chat and pray with people. Today it is Nigel and I with the church being open from 11am-1pm. Please also pray for the church leadership as we continue to navigate our way forward during changing government guidelines. Thank you.
If you took part on the all-age service yesterday, you would’ve seen Anita putting some ingredients together to make banana bread. She has now passed on the recipe for everyone to make use of:
3 mashed bananas
200g caster sugar
60g melted butter
200g Self Raising Flour
Mix all the ingredients together and place in a lined loaf time. Cook for 45/50 mins at 160/170.
Please send in photos of the results of your banana bread making efforts. They would be great to see.
1 I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him. (Psalm 40:1-3)
